I have tried to reproduce on Oneiric, and it seems fixed to me, the divider bar
doesn't change it's position. Can anyone confirm this again on a recent release
of Ubuntu?

I tried with the latest in lucid. I'll try to reproduce in Karmic and see if
it's there.
I set the status to confirmed since you're able to reproduce.

The bug is still there, but the Synaptic Package Manager version in Karmic is
still 0.62.5
What version of Synaptic did you test?
