i can confirm, that it is unstable under 9.10 alpha 2. going back to
9.04.

I found out a way to make it work; I entered sudo apt-get install
b43-fwcutter and after a restart, it works. this guide helped me

i can confirm this is happening on ubuntu 9.10 alpha 2... it simply
doesn't find my chip. (ubuntu 9.04 and alpha 1 did find my broadcom
chip, however)

This is happening for me too
On 9.10 (2.6.30) bcm4312 not functioning, even with restricted drivers installed
Only difference is I have an HP Mini 1116NR
