Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sl-modem-daemon
Hi, I used the ScanModem tool from Linmodems to find what was the modem included in my Asus F3JC laptop. It told me my modem can be managed using slmodemd with the Alsa snd-hda-intel pilot. I installed sl-modem- daemon package and tested "sudo slmodemd -c FRANCE --alsa hw:0,6". I also tried to download SLMODEMD.gcc4.3.tar.gz directly from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/ and typed "sudo ./slmodemd -c FRANCE -g dialout --alsa hw:0,6". I changed hw:0,6 to modem:0 and other values but hw:0,6 and modem:0 were the only ones that let me launch the daemon. While daemon is running I used gnome-ppp and wvdial with different settings but it never succeed to connect. I precise that with a different modem connected on usb with a serial to usb converter these softs work and that I tried all the settings advised for wvdial with slmodemd so this is well a slmodemd problem. ** Affects: sl-modem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Slmodemd doesn't work with Si3054 modem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/382654 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
