Public bug reported: The system workes perfect as long as I don't install certain packages. I have no idea what those packages are, since the problems occur only after install or after reboot.
Right now on my computer, Ubuntu 8.10: 1) On swiching language all 3 green led turn on / off, regardless of actually pressing num lock, caps lock or scroll lock. 2) On minimaize, the window 'escapes' to the right-bottom corner. he doesn't appear at the board. I can't remember what packages I installed that cause that, so I can't solve the problem. Examples for know problematic packages: 1) On installing "MOUSEEMU": the mouse pointer will get stuck on pressing "any key" & no green led will light. 2) On installing "setserial" &/or "controls configuration of serial ports": Ubuntu will suggest to delete the application "boards" & the computer will work very slowly. I suggest to mark the packages that came with the release as "original": BOLD thier names on the list &/or unique color. other packages will get numbers according to the order they were installed by the user, so he'll know what to delete if they cause any problems (separate list). That way I won't have to remember what packages I recently install that cause the problems, >since they survive upgrade<. I don't want to "take the chance" since I don't want to cause bigger problems. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Contradictions packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/383843 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
