I am experiencing this problem with UXA mode as well. For what it's
worth, I'm running the latest Intel drivers from the swat-x ppa. If I
have UXA enabled in Xorg.conf the problem is reproduced exactly as
previously described. Disabling it causes everything to work properly.

problem on Karmic, please report it in a new bug report instead of
adding it to this bug report (preferably with the `ubuntu-bug -p
xserver-xorg-video-intel` from the running Karmic LiveCD). This allows

I have the same problem with a 32bit Jaunty installation (upgraded from
intrepid), with the latest stable 2.7.1 intel drivers and uxa from x-swat. I
also tried the 2.6.30 kernel with the 2.7.1 drivers/uxa, same problem there.
Not always, more like in 80% of the cases.
