I can confirm this error. I think it derives from the fact that in the
/etc/kismet/kismet_ui.conf the variable soundplay is set to the
path=/usr/bin/play instead of /usr/bin/playsound . My Jaunty doesn't
even know the packet play. I will try if a fresh kismet installation
with purge will fix that.
Well, re-installing didn't change anything, but manually changing the
soundplay path to /usr/bin/playsound/ fixed the problem.

Not sure why, but all of a sudden sound is working. All I did was apt-
get purge kismet then apt-get install kismet. So unless someone
repackaged the program with a fix I have no idea why it's working now.

I forgot to ask, what should I change the Status to if the bug is
gone? I can't really confirm there was a bug in the first place or how
it was fixed if there was one. Any suggestions of an appropriate form
of action would be appreciated.
