I'm not against entering a password at login even if I select
automatic login. My problem is that entering a password should not
block the panel, it should be done in another thread

i am pretty sure this is a duplicate; usually you can select
"automatically unlock on login" for your keyring setup. Unfortunately,
this does not work in combination with auto-login atm ... anyway, moving
to gnome-keyring
