Thanks for the report, you need to configure the plugin to act like
that, default action is never show up, did you configure it previously?
If that doesn't work you might want to try to delete your rhythmbox
profile and create a new one, it could be something broken during the
upgrade, thanks.

Took me ages to realise that to get it to minimise to tray you need to have
'status icon: owns main window'
What does that even mean?
Strikes me as perfect papercut material.
