Well, if the icons scale proportionately and users can choose any non
predefined values this bug report can be closed I think.

This has been partly fixed , in the latest version of nautilus, as in the icons
of the desktop and the nautilus browser are now the same size. and the icons
scale proportionately with the corresponding zoom levels in the prefs menu..
But adding options as described in comment #5 would be a featur
Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut
should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu 9.10 install,
that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't
be addressed as part of this project.
