Prior to upgrading from 2.4.1 to 3.1 this set up worked perfectly. I do
not believe this to be a samba problem as all other computers on this
network are still functional. I do not believe this to be a permissions
problem.

Open Office 3 locks documents on the network as "read only"
https://b
I am now more confused than ever. When I open a file off of the samba
file server it will open as read only.
Example:
If the file is on the server located at:
smb://server2008wins/files/[file name].doc
When I go to look at the recent documents list, it is saying it was
opened from:
/home/[my n
You didn't mention why locking the file is a problem? If you don't lock
the file when you open it more than one person can attempt to edit the
file at the same time.
Also OOo now uses gvfs fuse for network file shares which is why you see
reference to $HOME/.gvfs/(path to share)
** Changed in: op
I am having the same problem. The issue is that it locks the document
for everyone including the person who created the file. Each time I go
to save the document I have to delete the lock file first.
