Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and help to improve
Ubuntu.
To my recollection, large file support in smbfs has always given
somewhat inconsistent results, even when the 'lfs' option is specified.
I agree that large file support should have been the default; but in any
case, for
Large file support works with 'lfs' but is poorly documented and should
perhaps e default behaviour.
