Well, whatever was causing this bug, it's gone in Karmic.
Guenther, do you still want to push for a fix in Jaunty, or should this
bug just be marked as Fix Released?

Without the knowledge of what the fix actually was, it probably isn't
feasible to single out the fix to apply for Jaunty. (Qt sees a lot of
changes/bugfixes each release)

You are right, this issue has nothing to do with virtualbox.
I have exactly the same problem with a fresh installed Ubuntu 9.04
machine. The problem with the cursor even appears in qt4-designer,
changing the object name for example.
I have tested it with one of my own application. It don't work
Bug has been observed in the Arora Web browser (package arora). It's
not a VirtualBox issue, it's a Qt4 issue.

Strike my prior comment about no other GUI application. The Arora Web
browser is based on Qt4, and exhibits the same sort of cursor-glitching
as seen in VirtualBox. I'm attaching a screenshot with a typical
example.
