yep, updating to 2.28.1 fixed the bug here...
(althou I just noticed it now automatically merges folders and
overwrites files without asking, but that's a different bug)

crashing issue on my end. Cheers.

I have got:
file-roller 2.28.1-0ubuntu1
nautilus 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu
tested and - fixed!
Note: after update package nautilus please restart your system.

I'm now using 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu7 and Nautilus still crashes when you drag
a file from File Roller over the Places pane in the Nautilus window. If
you drag AROUND the Places pane, Nautilus will not crash.
Attached is a screenshot illustrating my point.

Here with nautilus 2.28.0-0ubuntu7 it's working fine.
I test dnd from file-roller to nautilus and from nautilus to file-roller.

i'm using a new ubuntu karmic release from a day ago or so...
and i'm having the problem here, but not always.
i just plugged in my usb-memory and nautilus crashed while trying to drag and
drop from file-roller.

I had crash nautilus when I unpacked file from file-roller, but I used
menu from file-roller, not drag and drop method. Apport notified me
about it (LP: #405232).
