Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

All of the settings specified in the gnome-appearance-properties applet
are forgotten when a reboot occurs. This affects all of the windows
transitions, mouse cursor sizes and colors, etc. Setting the values to
the desired choices appears to take effect in the current session and
all changes look fine. However on reboot, all settings return to the
(presumable) defaults and none of the prior customization is retained.
This occurs on version 9.04 (Jaunty) of UbuntuStudio.
