My mistake, yes it is to the right of the menubar, in KDE3 it was to the
right of the toolbar and the spacing was correct at just 8 Pixels:

I am unable to reproduce this problem. I have just gone to about 10
websites in Konqueror. Everytime the KDE icon animates as it should, but
I am not seeing any extra grey space at all. This is with Karmic and 4.3
Beta 2.
