no wifi network with Intel Wireless 3945ABG under kernel 2.6.28-13
I have sony VAIO w/ iwl3945 driver also. Using network-manager-gtk I am
only occasionally able to get associated with an AP. I am using APs
from open-mesh.com.
Looking at the wpa_supplicant.log in /var/log; I saw many timeouts of
attempted authentication. Also, while attempting to associate I
1. Both kernel versions use iwl3945
2) Hard to test the workarounds for me, but i dont think they help much
if you did
For the first two boots wifi didnt work at all and I got the microcode error
third attempt it did managed to connect and worked for about a minute or two
and then stopped, and
it did work under for .13 version for a while,
but under .11 it found many more nearby networks available,
one unencrypted and others encrypted, sth doesnt work right..

A couple of questions...
1. Could you verify that the driver ( iwl3945 ) is loaded with the new
kernel?
% lsmod | grep iwl3945
2. It seems like there've been problems with this driver in the past,
especially with regards to the killswitch code.
