[Jaunty Amd64] Gparted fails to format hard discs to either Ext3 or
I have no way of reproducing the bug atm, so I'd just mark the bug as
invalid. If I ever encounter this problem again I'll re-report it.
Besides, HAL is pretty much purged from upstream (not sure about Ubuntu)
so if hal-lock was indeed the problem, it won't be anymore.

Tried it with a usb disk. There it worked perfectly.
I've attached the html files generated by gparted.
Still leaves me wondering why gparted failed on my spinpoint F1's.
Maybe this version of Gparted can't cope with TB-sized drives? it wouldn't be
the first time I've heard of such limitations.

The error message says:
/dev/sda1 is apparently in use by the system; will not make a
filesystem here!
I don't think this is related to bug #317709, it actually sounds like a
bug related to 'hal-lock' that is (supposed to be) fixed in jaunty's
GParted version.
So this is a bit weird.
