Well, I guess it is a little more complicated than that, but I was
helping troubleshoot KMS dpms hangs from intel bug reports with some
people on IRC and felt it should probably be brought up here because
removing it did in fact fix their problem. I noticed debian carries a
patch in acpi-support
Perhaps this should be marked invalid, more testing has shown that its a
deeper rooted problem and workarounds that might only be needed
temporarily aren't ideal. Not to mention, the fix I attached earlier
ended up only working because of a mistake I made in it as I'll describe
later..
