i tried in terminal the commands
1. sudo su
2. quanta
and the editor starts. so i think it has to do with the permission
rights?

This sometimes happen when you launch a graphical application with sudo.
You can try to remove .ICEauthority or to give it back the right
permissions:
sudo chown michael: .ICEauthority
Try to remove the quanta configuration
tried:
1. reinstalling quanta
2. deleting iceauthority
3. deleting config files
4. reinstalling kdelibs4c2a
no success ...
when i try to start via console i get a new error message

googling around brought me to the idea that my problem had to do with
what i have done yesterday with quanta

Quanta Plus does not start anymore
At any rate launching apps with sudo is not supported. To run apps with admin
privileges, please use the kdesudo/kdesu or gksu programs.
