Hi, I did that that with the same result! So I can connect using
pppd/chat following the same instructions (changed only username and
phone number).

Hi, APN, username, password where set. These values where set during
setup and manually. During the test (logs in this case) the values where
already there. (See also attached screen shot)

please set your APN, username and password in the connection editor.
even though the values might not matter, its required for some modems to
be set to something.
