Hm, I just checked the update-notifier-kde code, and it does run apport
through kdesudo. So I think I need to wait for the result of that patch
testing.

Thanks. The .crash file looks alright here, and I can open it with
apport, so it must be something specific to your environment. I wrote a
patch for apport to give the precise error message, could you please
apply that with
sudo patch /usr/share/pyshared/apport/ui.py apport.show-zlib-
failure.pa
Oh, I bet I know what went wrong. The report was written as root (since
software-properties runs as root). It seems that apport-kde is not
called as root for system crash reports. So with that patch applied, you
should see something like "IOError: Permission denied". If you see
something else, plea
