Has this been resolved yet?
I'm completely new to Ubuntu so I was delighted to see my Belkin USB
dongle autodetect and that the Network settings saw my wireless hub no
problems.

Thanks for the posting. I've experienced the same problem with a
WUSB54G. Fortunately, the device activates using iwconfig ... via
command line.
