Fresh installation of Karmic beta. GRUB2 did not found Jaunty and Fedora 11. All 3 distros have separate /boot partitions: sda1 - Jaunty; sda2 - F11; sda3 - Karmic. All 3 distros have encrypted / (root) partitions which reside on logical volumes. -- grub2 does not detect other operating systems

This is a problem that occurs on fresh installs, so it's not necessarily sufficient to observe that upgrades fix it. However, this may well be the same thing as bug 430141, for which I committed a fix today. I'd appreciate people re-testing fresh installs with the 9.10 beta when it's released.

This bug seems to be a duplicate of 430141 which is listed as a known issue for Alpha 6 Since installing Alpha 6 I am back to having no other operating system listed, and running update-grub solves the problem but lists the 9.04 partition 3 times. grub.cfg attached. ** Attachment added: grub.cfg

Now reinstalling Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha5 has the same problem, but while updating the system grub2 asks if you want to install the package manager's version or keep locally maintained copy. Selecting install the package manager's version solves this problem. -- grub2 does not detect other operating
