It seems there was a problem while upgrading; please do the following: 1) Open a terminal (Applications - Acessories - Terminal) 2) Run sudo dpkg --configure -a and wait till it finishes. After that you may close the terminal. 3) Now, if everything went well, you'll be able to install / remove
