Loic, it would be good if someone could push this bug to the upstream
developers. go to http://bugs.freedesktop.org and report a bug there
against telepathy-butterfly. Once you are done please make sure to link
the upstream bug to this one.

I had the same problem but I could fix it by killing the process
/usr/bin/python /usr/lib/telepathy/telepathy-butterfly and restarting
empathy.
Uh ... ? Same for me. Killing these processes solves the problem !
