Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 9.04, after opening and subsequent close of a serial port using the Moxa serial driver on a MOXA C168H/PCI series board, the port is unavailable to use again until after a reboot. Ive noticed some activity recently on the GIT changelog for the moxa.c driver source that may be related. The same program was working fine before my upgrade from 8.04.
Lsof doesnt show any remaining processes using the port in question. Lsmod shows the 'used-by' count at 2. 'rmmod mxser' fails with: ERROR: Module mxser is in use 'rmmod -f mxser' fails with: ERROR: Removing 'mxser': Resource temporarily unavailable ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: - After opening and subsequent close of a serial port using the Moxa - serial driver on a MOXA C168H/PCI series board, the port is unavailable - to use again until after a reboot.
