In order to allow this to be fixed, we need to find where the Add
button comes from. Using Pidgin 1:2.7.9-1ubuntu2, I can not find this
button. Which plugins/addons are you using? If not an addon, which menu
do you use to get to this add/remove button?

what? why it wasnt checked and confirmed?
still happens in 10.10
reproduce:
open pidgin irc join one channel add it as favorite
quit pidgin
open pidgin
join favorite channel and join another channel
in not added channel click add . then see same menu- still shows add but acts
as remove 2nd time
