You can start a panel by typing 'gnome-panel &' from the command line. You'll see some debugging text, but just hit enter a couple of times and then type 'exit'. If you close the terminal window by clicking the [x], your panel will close, so be sure to close it by typing 'exit'. Thank you for ta
