Public bug reported: PC freezes after a couple of minutes (fatal crash). I haven't noticed this on Ubuntu 8.04 and Windows XP on the same PC does not crash either, so I assume it must be the 9.04 Upgrade that is responsible.
Installed is the 64 Bit Version of Ubuntu 9.04, but the freeze also happened with the 32 Bit Live CD. The specifications of the Vostro 400 can be found here: http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/vos400/EN/html/appendix.htm#wp1123070 My system has 4GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT graphics card. Suspecting it I have tried to disable the NVIDIA driver for the graphics card, but after that the system froze immediately after logging in (parts of the desktop were already visible, but the background image was not yet loaded). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ubuntu 9.04 freezes on Dell Vostro 400 PC https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398198 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
