Binary package hint: cups-pdf
Marked to install cups-pdf in Synaptic. Applied changes. Stalled at
"Setting up cups-pdf (2.5.0-1ubuntu1) ..."
Killed the pid of Synaptic's install window (which also killed
synaptic). Found dpkg hung as well, and killed it.
Tried 'dpkg --configure -a' from the terminal; and, that too stalled.
Purged cups-pdf and found PDF still in System > Administration >
Printing. I had enabled it at some point, and now it will not let me
disable it, even with 'sudo system-config-printer'. A further 'sudo
aptitude install cups-pdf' also stalled at the same place, after hitting
Ctrl-C it tried to recover automatically and stalled again, a second
Ctrl-C let it end itself. AppArmor(?) generated a crash report for cups-
pdf - attached.
I found the following in my /var/log/messages, /var/log/syslog, and
