Steven's patch is in the credits for the 2.2.1 release [1] which can be
installed from here [2]. Updating to this version should fix the
problem for everyone. Thanks Steven!

Well, I'm sincerely asking to fix this. Most of my music in SMB share and this
make Kubuntu Amarok just useless for me :(
Are there any plans to progress with this or should I start to look for Amarok
nightly PPAs?

We can't close this here until it is in our packages. (We do set it as fix
*committed* as there's a fix upstream)

I can reproduce this bug.
I run Amarok v 2.2.0 with Kubuntu 9.10 RC. Browsing samba shares from the files
menu works, but adding doesn't do anything. For me an very annoying bug since I
live on a university with a large 3000+ samba shares and I don't want to mount
them all.
