Please attempt to reinstall apport using 'sudo apt-get install apport' it
seems this is an issue in some of the latest updates. In the few cases I have
dealt with, running the install has resolved the issue.

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development
release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If the issue remains, please run
the following command from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will auto

Thanks for taking the time to report this; however, apparmor is not
currently enabled by default in the karmic kernel, the kernel
commandline doesn't contain the "security=apparmor" option that would
enable it, and is reported as disabled by the "AppArmor: AppArmor
disabled by boot time parameter"
