I had to login via ssh to run these commands as trying to switch to VC1
with ctrl+alt+1 got picked up by the host machine and not VMWare Player.
Before enable/disable of accessibility features:
$ ps aux |grep gnome-settings-daemon
gdm 2479 0.4 1.9 35668 1 ?Ssl 12:06 0:01
