I cannot reproduce this crash but I've been testing the other gdm SRU
with the proposed package and did not noticed any regression so far.

could somebody try if that's an issue on karmic now? is the issue really
crashing gdm or is it a crash on closing or restart?

The VPN was a linux version of the Citrix Access Gateway
Citrix Access Gateway Plugin Version: 4604400
I used System Preferences Main Menu to create a new application in
terminal running the command cagvpn --login
FYI:
This plugin works on Jaunty [starts in a terminal, makes VPN link, can web
Updated karmic with the latest fixes as of 10am GMT. Rebooted.
Ran the new app to launch cagvpn and this time it did not cause the bug as
specified in this bug report.
Either 1) The App has nothing to do with the crash 2) The crash is random 3)
Something fixed it (there was a GDM update).
The
FYI: The iptables firewall was blocking the VPN. VPN now works.
Bug status still uncertain.
