The issue was not a bug and was resolved when I selected click to move from
the control menu. It might be helpful that click to move was a default
setting. For me it was not and it took me a while to discover the option.

Freecell issue - when I click on a card nothing happens. I can double click and
it goes to the empty four boxes above, but I cannot shift one card to another

It is a new installation and I needed to select click to move in the
control menu. All's well.
