This bug is fixed as far as I know. If you still have a problem with
xfce4-volumed, please report a new bug to your distribution (using
ubuntu-bug in your case). Also, make sure you attach
~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-mixer.xml and make sure
you do NOT have pulseaudio installed
where is the fix available ?
on motnh after being tagged fix-released, the same bug is still in karmic.
