You just need to put "VIA DXS" on the maximum level. You can change it
by running "alsamixer" on the terminal, but if you prefer a graphical
interface, you can install "gnome-alsamixer" with this command "sudo
apt-get install gnome-alsamixer".

problem that occurs when updating to Karmic from Jaunty.
