I will try increasing the printer's memory as you suggest. But if this
does turn out to be the solution it's a pity that the printer isn't able
to produce a useful error message.

I have discussed this with a Xerox engineer, as I had the same problem
with a Xerox Phaser 8560DN-2 printer. Trying to print many documents,
including output.pdf (attached above), crashed the printer. Following
testing from Xerox, I have increased the memory in the printer from
256mb to 512mb and o
I got confirmation from Xerox that they are able "to reproduce the
problem". So far support for Xerox on Linux is pretty good btw! They are
not dismissing Linux as a second class citizen.

I can confirm that I see the same problem with Xerox 8560DN.
I'm kicking myself for not having checked this bugdatabase first! :-)
Some files I can print out from Linux, others(probably those with big
pictures), make the printer crash.
This is using the CUPS printer driver.

This bug can be confirmed with a HP Laserjet Color 8550DN on a Hardy
I386 LTSP Fat Client and on an Intrepid X64 Workstation.
I am using the HPLIP-Driver for a HP 8550 which is marked as recommended
in CUPS.
What works:
- Printing images out of Firefox, OpenOffice.org, Acrobat Reader
- Printing p

Dear Pascal
Thank you for taking an interest in this bug.
The apport-collect and /var/log/cups/error_log were both collected after
attempting to print from EoG as requested. As before the Xerox-Phaser-
8560DN rebooted and the image was not printed.
But I was able to print from the command line

Please run the following command on a terminal for some useful debugging
information:
apport-collect -p cups 405851
Also attach you cups error_log after trying to printer from Eye of Gnome as
