I have returned to report that Karmic works flawlessly on my machine
now. I did a full install, updated to the latest packages and everything
seems to be fine. The only problem left is that there is no 3D
Acceleration. So no Compiz Eye-Candy. Maybe someone could help me here,

To my surprise, I had booted up Sabayon 5.0 KDE and it worked. I also

I do have an AGP system. My video card is AGP.
I have tried different AGPMode values from 1 to 8 but with no luck.
I'll have a look at Karmic Alpha 3 a little later.

AGPMode values? (1,2,4,8)

My problem is not like the bug #348332.
I cannot boot my ubuntu machine, unlike the others which have freezes
