In jaunty : drive-harddisk-usb , and all drive-* labels are used for unmounted drives gnome-dev-harddisk-usb and all gnome-* > was used for mounted drives only icon which behaved differently was > the "drive-harddisk" , this was used for mounted filesystems/internal drives while "gnome-dev-hardd
