Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope UNR (Ubuntu Netbook Remix), with kernel linux-image-2.6.30-020630-generic from http://kernel.ubuntu.com /%7Ekernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.30/ (however, I doubt the problem is kernel related as the hso module itself seems to behave correctly). The Problem: When using an UMTS Connection via network-manager-gnome [Version: 0.7.1~rc4.1-0ubuntu2], shutting down the system hangs because the NetworkManager [Version: 0.7.1~rc4.1.cf199a964-0ubuntu2] process still claims /dev/ttyHS0. Workaround: Killing NetworkManager and manually rmmod'ing the module hso remedies the situation and enables the system to shut down cleanly. Expected Behaviour: NetworkManager should free /dev/ttyHS0 after termination of the connection or at latest after the UMTS device is removed, so that the hso module can be cleanly unloaded and doesn't block the shutdown. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [jaunty] NetworkManager won't free /dev/ttyHS0 after disconnecting UMTS https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/408048 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
