Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: virt-manager

Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha3, all patches until now.
Virtual manager v 0.7.0.

Virtual machine manager is not connecting to remote KVM server. Error
is:

-----------------------------
Unable to open a connection to the libvirt management daemon.

Libvirt URI is: qemu+ssh://r...@192.168.1.120/system

Verify that:
 - The 'libvirt-bin' package is installed
 - The 'libvirtd' daemon has been started
 - That you have access to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock

Details:
Unable to open connection to hypervisor URI
'qemu+ssh://r...@192.168.1.120/system':
<class 'libvirt.libvirtError'> cannot recv data: Connection reset by peer
None

Maybe you need to install ssh-askpass in order to authenticate.

-------------------------------
Same in Ubuntu and KUbuntu.

uname -a
Linux ub910 2.6.31-5-generic #24-Ubuntu SMP Sat Aug 1 12:48:18 UTC 2009 i686
GNU/Linux

Server is:
Linux KVM0 2.6.31-3-server #19-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 14 17:05:22 UTC 2009 x86_64
GNU/Linux

Same thing works (tested) with Ubuntu 8.04 and virt manager 0.5.3.
