Thanks, Michael for your report. From looking at the release version of
s3switch, I guess this is ancient software that is not cared for too
well. There is no Maintainer for it, for example. Assigning to MOTU to
either apply or reject the patch.
Sebastian, can you get Debian to include the patc

For me that patch seemed to fix the problem, though s3switch does not show
current state on the command line correctly.
So when there is a patch for this problem for over a year now, why does it not
go into the package?
