This bug occurs every time I boot. Currently I use Maverick. It
manifests both on ubuntu kernel and generic 2.6.36 kernel from the
kernel ppa. Please reopen.

Hi Greg,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .
If it remains an issue,
I haven't had this problem recently, either on my Karmic or Lucid
installs (I think I found this bug on Jaunty) so I have marked this bug
as Invalid.

This problem was worked around by installed wicd to connect to my
wireless network and removing network-manager.
