This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

I just get the screen brightness problem, not the others. On an MSI
netbook, Ubuntu 9.10 beta

restart doesn't work and pulse audio crashed and at startup the screen
brightness goes up and down for the first couple minutes at startup

Not sure what to reassign this too, but looks like there could possibly
kernel issues, given issues with boot/shutdown. Definitely not
ubuntuone-client though.
