I'm unable to verify on 9.04 as my machine is running 8.10.

Yes, just reproduced on a different machine running 9.04.
Open a writer document. Make some changes.
Copy a whole bunch (say, 10) TTF files into ~/.fonts
Now go to the document and paste some text. Crash.
