Hmm, perhaps this is all bug 419264 considering how many problems the
fix for that seems to help with. I guess we'll just have to wait for
that kernel patch to end up in karmic then you guys can test.

Travis: if I replicate the crash the only way I can use my computer is
by restarting X (ctrl+alt+del). If I run apport after restartring X and
logging in again, will it include information about the crash?

Same problem here. Using a fresh and updated Karmic install on an HP
laptop with Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD video card.
However, it doesn't happen always. In my last test, I had two terminals
open and was able to switch. Then I opened Firefox, and couldn't switch
anymore.
When the problem does happ
Can you trigger this crash again and let apport send the full report?
There really isn't anything we can do with the information currently
provided as it sounds hardware related.

It happens to me with any application open and with both "Application
Switcher" and "Static Application Switcher". If I disable them, the
problem doesn't happen anymore.
