I'm running Karmic Koala Alpha 5 up-to-date as of 9.6.2009, and I can
perform 10 consecutive pm-suspend, lid shuts, or fn-f1 hotkey, as well
as 5 consecutive pm-hibernates.
Please upgrade to Karmic Koala and
I got prompted for this, but as far as I've noticed suspend and
hibernate have been working fine in karmic.
