Is this still a problem for you, Daniel? Does it happen with other
applications? Do you see it when running _only_ Amarok, no other apps?
It sounds like some sort of metacity bug, possibly specific to Qt
applications.

Which window manager are you using? (Compiz? Metacity?) This would be a
bug with one of those, as Amarok itself does not implement a shadow
feature.
