I'm sad to say this bug still hasn't been fixed in pavucontrol 1.0, 3.5
years after the original report. It is a nightmare if I leave the
volume control up while playing all my classical music in a media
player, since the long names can easily cause the volume control window
to fill or even go bey
Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut
should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that
affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be
addressed as part of this project.
- PAVU control is not part of the default install
I think this could be judged as being of medium importance, what do you
think?

This affects me too, and it is really annoying. If I use a virtual
simultanous output device of pulseaudio, pavucontrol gets wider than my
screen. This is very annoying, but should be easy to fix. I think most
of the users which will use simulatnous output will encounter this
problem
